Cal Poly Celebrates WoW Week 2012!
Cal Poly is known across the nation as a top ranked state college with an emphasis on “Learning by Doing.” It’s known locally for the annual influx of new freshman students eager to make their mark on San Luis Obispo. As predictable as the seasons, each September brings the mass introduction of thousands of new incoming students for their “Week of Welcome.” You can’t go downtown during this week without noticing all the energy and activity these “Wowies” bring. We were lucky enough to be invited to help celebrate the end of this momentous week with a big dance party for all 2,000 new Wowies in the Cal Poly Gym. We didn’t bring just one photo booth for this big hurrah, but instead brought two of our classic vintage-style photo booths and our brand new Snap Cubby Junior photo booth!
We spread the two classic booths out across the gym and put Junior up on a balcony overlooking the dance party. It was especially fun to see the differences of the two styles in action. The classic booth allowed groups to pile in for crazy up close and candid photos, with its vibrant red upholstered background adding a fun flair. With the curtains closed, these freshman could let their inner crazy out and the results were awesome. On the other hand, Junior gave giant groups of Wowies the opportunity to crowd into big open group shots. With no walls to hold them in, they could jump around and be as active as they wanted. There were pyramids, photo bombs, and ninja kicks which resulted in hilarious candid photos. Junior was truly a group experience. Check out a few highlights below. There’s also more to see on our Facebook page. If you were one of the many there that night, be sure to click the link at the bottom to find your way to the entire group of Snap Cubby Photos!
